Machu Picchu Museum
Officially called the Manuel Chavez Ballon Site Museum, named after an archaeologist, this interesting museum allows you to get more background about the famed world wonder. There’s so much to learn about Machu Picchu, that it’s well worth getting the information more than once, especially as you can be a bit overwhelmed when you’re at the site itself.
Most of the signage is in both English and Spanish and, in addition to the informative displays, you’ll also see some artifacts that were found during investigations at the site.
Right near the museum is also a botanical garden which you can stroll through, including a wide variety of orchids. The two attractions together make the short and relatively flat hike worth your time.
